For the best photo:
If CoinOptic is not sure, you get a short list to choose from (“Did you mean…?”) or tips for taking a new photo. A photo that does not lead to a result does not count toward your daily scans.
CoinOptic never shows a single price, but a range for each condition. The range is an estimate from market data, not a guarantee and not an appraisal. If it is based on current listings rather than sales, it says so. Asking prices are usually higher than the prices coins actually sell for.
“Not enough sales data” means there is too little data for this coin in this condition to give a reliable range. The bullion value is the pure material value of silver and gold coins at the current price, not the collector value.
Identifying coins is free, with a limited number of scans per day. CoinOptic Pro unlocks unlimited scans, market values, rarity and known minting errors.
You manage and cancel subscriptions in your iPhone’s Settings under your name → Subscriptions. A free trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. After switching devices or reinstalling the app, get your subscription back with “Restore purchases”. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your collection is stored on your device and works without signing in. If you sign in with Apple, Google or email, it is also backed up to your account and restored on other devices. You delete your account and the data backed up there in the app under Settings → Account.
